The word ‘start-up’ is much more than just a company founded by a bunch of people. Start-ups have the hidden potential in them that can drive the successful ones into massive transformed models that can rival foreign companies. India is going through a start-up revolution with countless individuals taking the plunge to start their own ventures which are growing up to be formidable companies in the private economic sector.

Founded by Ashutosh Bhattacharya, My Big Plunge is a media platform that covers all aspects from the Indian and global start-up industry. Its website is a full-fledged portal for latest stories, features and news related to the start-up industry where several notable names have been featured. My Big Plunge’s highlight is its series of video documentaries that have covered some of the biggest names of the industry.

Interviews and features of companies like Jabong, Naukri, HealthKart, FoodPanda, 91 Springboard, Milagrow, Happily Unmarried – these are just some of the names that have been featured on the website. Moreover, it also frequently posts entrepreneurial stories via text content. Some of the notable names are Suvro Ghosh from HelpMeDoc, Vipul Jain from Advancells, Aakanksha Bhargava from PMR, Amish Tripathi and Vikas Khanna.

Recently, the company has tied up with leading newspaper The Economic Times, a part of The Times Group. The documentaries of travel entertainment PressPlay, job portal giant Naukri and healthcare company HealthKart have been featured by the newspaper so far. Many more are about to follow.

My Big Plunge also runs a culture section where content from its sister initiative Sound Plunge is posted. This consists of videos that Sound Plunge has covered like documentaries on renowned musicians like Siddharth Basrur, Mame Khan etc. It also has a section called Venue Finder that has covered places like Turquoise Cottage, Coopers etc.

An overview of My Big plunge




My Big Plunge is an editorial initiative that actively covers the start-up industry and successful entrepreneurs of India. It was founded by Ashutosh Bhattacharya in 2013 and has formed to be a leading portal regarding entrepreneurial stories and talent in the country. Starting off with a series of powerful documentaries on the start ups culture of India, the brand has grown up to be a full scale editorial that features articles on news, pop culture, technology, politics and travel from all over the world.

In the ongoing documentary series (which can be viewed on the company’s YouTube page), some of the most notable and interesting start-up ventures have been featured. Many of these
start-ups have grown up to be full-scale enterprises. This is the first initiative in the country that a no-profit series actively participates in high quality production of the documentaries.

Among the companies covered, some of the most known are HealthKart, Jabong, ShopClues, Milagrow, PressPlay, FoodPanda etc. My Big Plunge has also recently tied up with leading financial daily The Economic Times to feature the content the brand delivers. Till now, HealthKart and PressPlay have been featured in the online portal of The Economic Times with the content provided by My Big Plunge.

At times, the brand has also featured stories that focus on the cultural aspect of the country. One of the most popular stories was of Laxman Rao, an ordinary tea seller in the country who showcases incredibly humble entrepreneurship. My Big Plunge has also covered events like Comic Con in New Delhi. It has also created a mashup video to motivate entrepreneurs to take the plunge and start their own venture. My Big Plunge also has a sister website called Sound Plunge that covers the independent music industry in India.

The editorial continues to grow at a rapid pace and plans to feature more inspiring stories showcasing entrepreneurship in India.
